Pico is a novel construction toy that aims to bring the freedom of construction video-games into reality.
The more freedom exists in the mechanisms to join blocks together, the more freedom there is for creative play!
In essence, digital construction videogames have no constraints apart from the ones needed to make the deeply engrained act of creation fun, namely, that of creating spatial arrangements without being encumbered by physically coupling mechanism to join blocks.
In videogames, all blocks perfectly fit together… no matter the orientation or positioning of any one block.
This frees up creativity as building is intuitive and easy, letting the mind focus on the larger vision and not the minutia of having to orient and couple individual blocks.
Pico hopes to bring the same freedom that videogames provide in the flexible joining of blocks but embodied in a physical toy, where orientation and positioning no longer matter!
Finally letting children and creatives build real models at home in a similar fashion to that of popular construction video-games.

Coupling faces of blocks, so that every block can connect with every other block regardless of orientation or positioning without any additional pieces being needed is difficult.
With Pico, a unique method of coupling was devised, that allows any exact copy of any block to couple with any other block in whatever way you see fit!
One block design, repeated, can couple with any other block with all the flexibility afforded in videogames.
And as an additional aside, rotation, half cubes, triangles, slopes and a host of other possibilities exist that can use the same design to expand the creative potential of the toy.
